The young know not of their Beauty
They see not through their perfect eyes
To them mature Love looks like duty
But we're more lovely when we're wise
The young know not about true rapture
They read not signs of time's perfection
Like how sunken eyes so radiently capture
My old heart in Her most perfect imperfection
Oh let me take your weathered hand
As I linger at your graceful sinewed neck
We'll sail bold unto Love's waves grande
While our peers go down in crude ship wreck
Oh young lovers you not know the powers
Nor the age and depth of our true passion
Oh how sweet are Her last autumn flowers
Before winter's gale winds come slashin'
No, the young know not how blue Soul Love
Through time's falling sands weighs so much more
They know not the rarest beauty of our dying dove
Nor how high upon Her imperfect wings we soar!
