I will never say, "I love you"
Unless you really want me to
And I will not soar high above you
Because those heights now haunt me too
I will not plant for you a garden
Unless you think maybe I should
I will not let my heart unharden
Although for you I know it could...
I will still not ever offend her
Even if she finally walked away
And I will not ever surrender
Though there's damn little left to say
I will not be the first to ask
Unless you are the last one standing
I will not put our passions to Love's task
For fear of yours or my hard landing
I will not write a poem for you
Unless you really are that bold
I'll not let my thoughts roam toward you
Unless we both recall sweet days of olde...
