Torn Apart, Knocked About

Torn apart, knocked about,
left bleeding on the ground.
I stand and watch,
I'll not protest, for
I am gagged and bound.
I'd lost my path,
Had looked for help, but none
was to be found.
My mind was full
of thoughts and dreams,
of one true love of mine.
But you see, I was so lost,
without a clue or sign.
I was to find, to realize,
how lonley my heart had been.
And how I'd searched,
subconsciously,
for someone I'd never seen.
But on and on,
I'd looked and looked.
Until I'd thought I had no hope.
then I saw you, and you saw me,
and we helped eachother cope.
Hardships came, and then they went,
and still we stood together.
And hopefully we'll stay this way,
from now until forever.
