We have survived through many a famine
We've been torn apart thoughout His holy war
Now swim upstream with me, us two salmon
Where I will die again to nourish us ever more...
I've died slaying waves of conquering Romans
We thrived despite their long dying empiric war
We always met again, two swimming salmon
Upstream I die that I may Love you ever more...
We died fighting of course at ancient Telamon
By Roman blade two hundred years before
I slew was slain again by Ceasar's horsemen
Then you were landed new on that green shore
Where I fell so hard for You against the Saxons
One century after Romans smashed our door
Then we found ourselves two upstream salmon
Where I died again to nourish You ever more
At Clontarf I fought again and died for You
Our Mother in the year One thousand fourteen
When I was cast again unto the vast dark blue
Until the next time we met to spawn upstream
