Black May Day

O
I will not let you draw me down
Below this evening's black horizon
Not today when winter sheds her gown
But you were the One I had my eyes on...
I can not beleive you just went away
Without a farewell word nor reason
How could you leave me on May Day
On this the cusp of our fair season?
I will not let you break my Heart
For I have stood alone today before
Three years ago today She did so part
Thus - you knew - I love her evermore
I think you know what you have done
Its your right - there was no obligation
But you're leaving with the Heart you won
Given freely up for your dark liberation
I will not shed today a tear for you
How could I from this hollow chest?
For rain falls not from May skies so blue
And how Gods know I need the rest
Author's Notes: I figgered out the meaning of that dream that scared you all on my own thank you very much. Remember how the USSR back then usurped the spirit of the day, usurped our old religion, and turned a beautiful day of peace into their own May Day parade - a macabre dislay of obedient marching soldiers and multi-headed nuclear missiles, cradled side by side such an 'impressive' display of weaponry and power? Weren't they horrible days. The cold war. The U.S. not much better of course. And through it all I wanted nothing more than to join my friends and ride my gentle horse among Nature's resplendent renewel, for that is what the day was always meant to be about...
