Lady Magdalene

Walking all those corners, heavy on her feet
There isn't much money in walking these streets.
Smiling at the drivers will one day be her end.
Back at her addiction, 'though her life was on the mend.
Lady Magdalene
What are you doing there?
Don't you know
That Jesus really cares?
Walking in the diner, dragging heavy feet
She's just glad that she is off those cruel streets.
Smiling at the waiter, says his name is Len,
Althought she's trying to get out, there she goes again.
Lady Magdalene
What are you doing there?
Don't you know
That Jesus really cares?
Leaving the drab diner, with the waiter, Len
She thinks, Just this one trick, the I won't need men.
He won't give her money, but just some crack instead.
When she is done with Len, the crack messes with her head.
Lady Magdalene
What are you doing there?
Don't you know
That Jesus really cares?
Waking up late, knowing her life is fated,
Does not know she has been rehabilitated.
Poor, poor Lady Magdalene, please do not leave,
Please don't go back out there, you must learn to believe.
Lady Magdalene
Knows why she's there.
And she knows
Jesus doesn't really care.
Putting on her makeup, leaving a sad home.
Out on the streets, she's a hooker left to roam.
Met up with a man in a dark alleyway.
Killed her so quickly, she didn't have time to pray.
Lady Magdalene
Knows why she's dead.
And she knows it was the crack
That messed with her head.
