I once said I'd always bring you flowers
When e'er our solstice times come 'round
A pair of soft pink showy lady's slippers
From the swamp where we are lost then found
Each year I will return this vase to you
Refreshed with orchids and the finest sedge
To prove to you again my Love is true
You could always be my dark source of knowledge
I'll cherish every bloom and moist blade
That in green hopes for you I'd never cull
I'll never take more than Nature can sustain
'Tis this solitary's favourite solstice ritual
Each year I'll watch for your expression
If you ever indicate my offerings strange...
That you'd let me do this is a blessing
Its now a romantic habit I won't change
I once said I'll always bring you wild orchids
At this our most resplendent time of year
In your seasons beauty I'm smitten amidst
I would bring you only orchids, never tears
