The Fleeting Play

Life it is but
A fleeting play,
Half of which
Most dream away
Night, is not less mundane
Sleep! supreme
Over most, you reign
Yet ours the dreams
That we do allow
While resting
Beneath unconscious brow
And reason then,
Ascends her throne,
We do rise
And we alone
Though minded will
And tread unknown
Paths hidden
From the mass
For those awakened
Will sleepers surpass
