Gathering up these scraps of old dry wood
I am collecting with them sad memories
We must burn the lot - its now understood
Then feed the sorry ashes to green trees
Built for this rite, a new limestone circle
Around old felled pine and cedar piled high
Meant to free two spirits by one miracle
Against storm clouds gathering in the sky
Ablaze I set alight our dry memorial pyre
Just as you send down a cold hard bitter rain
But you'll not drown nor douse this gaining fire
That's been torched to burn away our pain
Then your rainfall and darkness thickens
Flames feeding on your strong storm blows
In the crackling heat my heart beat quickens
Thru the drenching cold, hot, I shed my clothes
I repeat within the storm more sun salutations
By steam, air fire and water rising sets us free
Though I am wet and naked, centred meditations
Reconnect our peaceful earth through yogic tree
