Beyond the jagged black horizon
Below the grey heavy clouds above
Glows a band of clear gold light
Like the last vestiges of love
These halcyon days are shorter
Our summer's coming to its end
The evening air is growing colder
Yet still this band of light you send
Between the fierce jaws of darkness
Black clouds and earth become a vice
Forcing us through this band endless
The bright gold ring I've paid for thrice
The evening stillness is now broken
By the soothing western zephyr breeze
Carried to me in our words unspoken
Squeezed through light above the trees
While dark limbs and clouds are merging
This band of fading light still lingers
Like the five candlelight's reflection
From golden rings upon our fingers
