Last summer's magick fast is going
As autumn's final leaves fall dead
Its a damp bitter wind now blowing
O'er another deer's blood flowing red
Her soft dank Earth is crusting over
As glass ice shards rim the marsh
I will not more be your lusting lover
For hunting season stalks me harsh
The sweet poems of greener seasons
Like Her fragrant floral blooms are gone
Replaced by these my damn cold reasons
When winter snow takes down another fawn
These pine woods have fallen silent
With these first white sullen flakes around
Like tree leaves covered are less strident
I lie down buried deep upon Her ground
First snow splendour finds me believing
As winter paints grey landscapes white
In the Light path toward May we're weaving
Through its depth this dark moonless night
