What Did You Do?

What Did You Do?

When your childrens' kids are wailing
When they want for food and water too
When their crops and creeks are failing
They might well ask "What did you do?!"
When their great lakes are shrinking
And life mediterranean's all but through
They might well ask "What were you thinking?"
While they exclaim "What did you do?!?"
When their northern forests are burning
And their once clear sky's no longer blue
Though their Earth will still be turning
They may well die for what we didn't do...
When their coastal seas are rising
Their future black foreboding in rear view
From storm deaths and dust on the horizon
They'll rightly revolt asking "What did you do?!"
When for dear life they are then gunning
Amidst the chaotic strife that quickly grew
You might well find your old self running
When young mobs demand "What did you do!"
