Between the killing frost and baby
One thin fragile window pane
Enough to keep the fire's warmth within
Just enough to keep out freezing rain
Between the cluster bombs and bedrooms
One thin fragile peace os so germaine
Love just enough to keep the anger in
Enough Hope to keep men in power sane
Between the highway deaths and daycare
One thin painted line for each fast lane
Its just enough to keep from crashing
As lives speed on towards the mundane
Between the desert dunes and plenty
One thin fragile atmosphere arcane
Its enough to keep the blue skies in
Just moist enough to still grow grain...
