We first met there in the climax
Of solar cycle twenty three
Its been getting colder ever since
We proved how hot this Earth could be...
You first blushed a lunar full eclipse
When the Earth lined up between us
Before I watched you set below Her hips
Like the glistening chalice of our Venus...
You now sparkle there against the black
Shining still despite the frigid Light
I sense the warmth then we now lack
Under our solar waning burning bright
We soared once there at the apex
Of this our long solar cycle twenty three
I linger on there in patterns complex
Through thirteen years and moons of thee
We've been both falling with the downslope
Since its start: our global warmings ends
Under a spotless sun basked yet in Hope
Come ice ages not between strong friends...
