I am awestruck by Her Beauty
And by all that's Natural here on Earth
We were once thunder-struck in darkness
Sometimes we're lightning struck at Birth
I am bitten, smitten by your Beauty
But I have been mauled before by Love
I have been arrow-struck on hill tops
And by white heat flashing from above
I have been wonder-struck by miracles
In both juniper and sage-smudge smoke
Cleansed in gritty sweat lodge fire circles
Where Zeus, Jupiter and Old Ones spoke
We've been dumb-struck by fast drumming
And by Yogic chanting crowned again aglow
I've felt my heart's last strong beat thrumming
Struck down dead then heard the beat regrow
I am awestruck by your natural Beauty
And by what's still well with Mother Earth
I rise again - she strikes - the kill Her duty
Down-striking at the very height of mirth.
