I've poured out my heart for you
In old words written trite and sage
Hoping you may find one poem true
That you might boldly turn the page...
I've written words from out of darkness
Sometimes I've scribed unto the Light
I've rhymed despite your cruel starkness
At times inspired by your candles lit at night
I've forged on against all reason
Making art from love's lost miracles
Turning phrases in each blessed season
Taking back cross words from fire circles
I've offered up my book of shadows
Just for you and all the world to see
From our sad first ending at the gallows
Until death's next beginning sets us free
I've poured out my Lightest heart for you
My brightest words intended to engage
Trusting you may find one poem so true
That, suspended, you might turn the page
