Remember Those Warm Days

Remember when the Sun shone strong
It was not all that very long ago
We believed almost our life-styles wrong
Although we still loved the Sun's warm glow
Remember when the skies were clear
And it seemed it would never rain
Our Earth was drying but we shed no tear
The fear of global warming seemed insane
Remember when our winters were mild
And how summers arrived too soon
We almost worried then for all that's wild
Fearing green forests might soon turn to dune
Remember then how men became fools
Mandating farmers then to feed our S.U.V.s
Turning needed grain seeds into bio-fuels
Burning food while hunger brings folks to their knees
Remember those these warm days of plenty
While the coming snow and ice begins to build
When half the world's grain bins are empty
When our cars and cups are still half-filled...
