(The Healing Breeze)

It’s new warmth this night we're feeling
As if unto sudden summer you’ve arrived
The cleansing rains have worked their healing
Despite that long cold winter we survived
I’m soothed tonight by this warm breeze
As if we've never really before known summer
Caressed beneath these trembling poplar trees
By the gentlest zephyr here in Stoney Dummer
This humid evening finds me more at Peace
Underneath this new warm crescent moon
Our Lives renewed again through Nature’s lease
Long sweet scented days grow shorter all too soon…
Tonight your presence’ not so frightening
As our older summer weather returns to norm
Like comfort after closely striking lightning
Calm, smiling wiser together aft' the storm
Stand with me firm beneath this vast dusk sky
Hold me like two windswept pines in silhouette
When night’s shadows fall we’ll not ask why
We meld with darkness after our Sun's Set
Author's Notes: Sometimes I wish I could just bottle the sweet balsam-cherry-lilac air from this stony place at this beautiful time of year and share it with all of you!
