O
Our Sun's core is far less active
As we approach this season's turning point
Its magnetic pull now less attractive
Like your smiles still burning less anoint
I feel it in my hollow solar plexus
This crueler Sun unknown in fifty years
I see it through her forced reflexes
Beneath endless rains and cooler tears
I'll shine ever for you a proud lover
Like the bright Sun before you ever more
Despite this gathering thick cloud cover
When you feel not the warmth we knew before
Heed not Al Gore's ship of pop-science fools
They're as harmless as mosquitoes swarming
But let not precious grains be burned as fuels
In these last days of so-called 'global warming'
Celebrate with me a new fawn's re-birth
On the very eve of this our new cold solstice
They under-estimate you, Mother Earth
I'll wait for you where e'er old souls kiss
