Between sharp spurs of fighting cocks
Amidst wild howling wind-hounds of hell
Beyond the permanence of hagstone rocks
Within gentler rising ocean waves you dwell
Before green Nature's trustful runes laws
After the storm's dark wrath leaves us godless
Below the power of blood-lustful bruins claws
Above you fly more peaceful now a goddess
Between the thunder clash of dueling swords
Amidst these cold heart felt clangs of steel
Beyond the knives-out fangs of feuding lords
Within your changling depths I melt ethereal
Before your watercourse restores our Breath
After you have bled and drained my veins
Below me strides the dark horse Famine death
Above we ride on waves through peaceful reigns
Between the razor talons of our birds of prey
Amidst the fires reason rips your muscled man
Beyond tempest waves let fly Halcyon calm today
Within desire's season grips the tussled Woman
Author's Notes: Halcyon, I just learned, is a mythical bird beleived to nest at sea, capable of calming the ocean waves.
