You know we have been all perched here in the shadows like a murder of crows silently waiting out the night before the first light of a glorious new dawn anxiously holding our breath against our rapidly drumming hearts almost exactly unlike nervous school children anticipating the biggest birthday party of their short lives but of course this is much more profoundly important than such infants' dreams and though we have been long misrepresented cast as evil doers and denied our due place in the Sun now for what has it been about seventeen hundred years but we are gathering in the dark precisely without any murderous intent and when this black veil is lifted and we finally spread our long-folded wings in renewal and warmth to the merciful rising of the Sun you will feel the whole Earth released within Her sigh and in the power of that moment when we remember you will see She has always surrounded Him and ourselves and all of Nature in endless miracles with Her Grace and when the Beauty of that information is too much and you must pull your head away to hide the Ocean swell within your eyes through the mists it is as if you see for the first time brilliant waves of sunlight forever lapping gently upon the shores below your breast like the ebb and flow of Truth eroding away all but the steadfast barren bedrock of Love and within the realization elemental unity and our reason receding pulled further away now to reveal the void before the coming of the first of many larger waves of Light rolling high above the waterline impermanence rolls then falls crashing powerfully upon the Rock but there is only silence then and in the stillness of this new morning when you open your eyes within your dark feathers you see endless waves of Light there refracted among the fibres of our fine quills no longer folded black in stark darkness but electified and shimmering dazzling bright in every ever-changing colour of the rainbow dancing into the dawn and if you could listen close enough above the distant drums you would hear our thrumming hearts beating today as One!
