There's consequences in each action
But for going nowhere there are more
With each gear shift there is reaction
Its idylling hearts that eat away our core
In forward movement we find traction
Its just stop signs that make us still
So we follow street laws of attraction
To then avoid becoming sad road-kill
Our new gods gave us fuel injection
And this sleek fast sports car to drive
But its powers come without direction
Its up to us to brake it and steer alive
At speed you'd best keep looking forward
Not at Life through rear-viewed reflection
No, you must set your eyes on fast toward
Lest you crash unto your last connection
You've got to keep your wits about you
As you speed along Life's winding highway
For no metal dumb machine will doubt you
Even when you lose control and skid my way
