Come please tell me bardic friends
I could use your wisdom and advice
You know I scribe poems that know not ends
Often mystic sometimes naughty always nice
You see I can't say where they come from
It seems I hear words whispered in the wind
The cadence falls with beating hooves like drums
As if from mounted vesper saints who've sinned
I won't be labelled as a witch nor druid
But I ride those paths in leather boots that fit
For all of time and writ history here is fluid
And coincidence surrounds us here to whit
Of its dark source I won't begin to tell you
But I dearly wish for that one I feel I could
I've no mystic good nor services to sell you
Like you, I want to Be, not misunderstood
You see I find all around us only miracles
Yet I've no desire to don robes nor teach
No, I work alone with fire and stone circles
And I like wine & women far more than men who preach
I am still burning but now like the constant sun
And I remember one kind face above the crowd
My strength was waning as your tears began
But come spring like birds we sang Love aloud!
