O
Come lie with me upon our naked backs
Our arms spread before the coming storms
Let the Earth Herself breath through our skin
As we lie prone here two witness cruciforms
Look up with me through heaving clouds
Beneath a hundred swirling shades of grays
Let Her cleansing rains wash ‘way our sin
As we bask in these first of our last days
Feel Her gathering winds caress our soul
Before the storms downburst from high above
Let both Her gentler ways and fury in
As we take root here in green grass and Love
Scrye up with me through seething clouds
Until her skies wink one blue seeing eye
Let Her watch us join Nature sanguine
As we take flight not wondering how or why
Come fly with me upon Light feather
Within Her windswept wisps of blue-white hair
Let’s soar beyond Her gray storm’s weather
As our wingtips together touch in prayer
Author's Notes: umm this poem follows a 9-10-9-10 syllables per line format and of course five whaddya-call-them? stanzas? Is that right?
