Malleus Maleficarum

A weight that holds me each morning,
dawn’s dull red light a hidden warning.
Black bulky moth eaten shields,
glass strewn upon woven fields.
Candle light reflects my eyes,
ever searching for your spies.
Cigarette smoke cleanses the air,
triumphantly we despair.
The acid on our tongues,
purges the poison from her lungs.
Samhain bathed by the bloody crone,
all creatures of the night ascend to your throne!
One night may we run with Elizabeth How,
run from Ipswich and ourselves, run now!
Don a mask and look good enough to kill,
conformity brought into sharp relief by the thrill
Indifferent hands catch delicate wrists,
in the name of Love how can such evil exist ?
The Christ bled water, and by this holy Element,
you will end my torment.
Listen to the satisfying crunch of my bones.
Gather! Gather! Hurl your stones!
Burn the witch! Burn the witch!
Set her afire for all she’s learned!
Damn me! Damn us all!
Our burning cries will be your fall,
you took something you couldn’t understand,
destroyed it, and kissed the devils hand.
So lay in your righteous bed,
I’ll creep into your head,
by the power of the Great Mother
“Do as yee will less it hurt another”.
Author's Notes: Our english class had to write a poem for halloween so I wrote one on the witch trials.
