(Christmas Story)
December 22-25th, 2008
He is the alpha and omega
His and Her offspring the King of Kings
He gave us our Earth Mother’s only Sun
The splendid source of Everything
In ancient Egypt He was Horus
And on Crete a minatour, the Ox
On summer nights He sings a bull-frog chorus
Until the cooler evening autumn equinox
When His Light and Her Dark are equal
She rides then October’s chilling winds
After each hunt season comes the sequel
She then takes away our thrilling summer sins
Her breath then dark consumes His Light
As His slow death enshrouds Her holy Love
He bows come winter unto Her black night
Before They shine again at Oeastre high above
By winter solstice so lowly He ebbs
Upon this our shortest cold & darkest day
But at Christmas He’s re-birthed from death
When three stars eastern show us which way
On each twenty-fifth December morn
One eastern Star precedes Love light re-birth
Three kings reveal then the god Sun reborn
These Four in line above our Virgo Mother Earth
There Light casts Death in winter’s darkness
His re-birth announced by three men wise
With one star bright against dawn's starkness
In three days appears his Light anew at Sunrise
Within the cosmos centred there Love dwells
Until once more sadly He'll be falsely tried
Forgiving One among the star signs twelve
When betrayed in gaining Light He’s crucified
Amidst the Light Her darkness still breeds strife
Then bloods spots on snow arrive with estrus
Within the solstice balance there bleeds Life
When Death survives to spring again to test us
Soon will sweet balsam buds scent April air
And our warm Hope’s rewarded with days longer
Come May light kisses fall 'midst Her dark hair
And once again the gods' Sun rises stronger
He is the alpha and omega

Author's Notes: Three full days after the winter solstice, in the pre-dawn light of December 25th, watch the eastern sky where the three 'kings', the stars also known as Orion's belt, line up with Sirius the bright morning star pointing to the horizon where the Sun will rise again, the days finally waxing again, fueling Hope now once again as cold death's Darkness has consumed the Life-light since the Autumn equinox, the god and goddess mercifully reach a glorious truce - equal opposities at Solstice - when our maiden Mother despite our sins rebirths the god Sun towards the miraculous renewal of spring Life. Its written there in the sky. Every year throughout the year. Just look up.
