Alone today we each hacked out together
Prone the others way in both extremes of weather
I, on my athletic feisty little fine dark mare
And you upon your noble equine Midnight Man
Towards each other galloped we on dark horses
You from the beach & I down icy watercourses
Backed by strong winds in flowing dark mane hair
I through driving snow, you lightly glowing on soft sand
We both ride strident forward on to be together
Upon warm light reins and cold black leather
You from out the night into a cooler red dawn air
And I past winter’s dusk unto a kind greener land
Love meet me on our vast ancient midland ground
Past the point when all seems lost where we are found
Let greet thee arched above me there in climate fair
Where I might take once again thy dove-white hand
By noon’s height we finally join up gleefully together
We then bareback into moonlight divine free of tether
You at one with Venus on a fine dark mystic mare
Becoming moonstuck I your gentle midnight man
Author's Notes: Independently two souls rode out to the new chalice moon yesterday in two different parts of the world. Both found their horses high-spirited and were thrilled to let them just gallop! Thanks for the inspiration Rochelle. Yours truly, in harmlessness.
