Soon After Winter Dies

Soon yellow coltsfoot under-hoof will flower
Overhead snipe wing-songs will fall from skies
Come then feel Her Earth and Sun god’s power
In spring’s rebirth with me soon after winter dies
Ride with me amidst soft pussy willows
Above chorus frogs and singing peepers loud
Aloft come glide with me o’er soft white pillows
In Love's deep blue beneath high sky and cloud
Wet we'll ford through swollen watercourses
It will take a strident mount to cross up-stream
Yet we’ll be up for it whole upon black horses
Fears once confronted makes Life here a dream
When we finally reach the other side
Let’s just put our steeds to pastures green
Then we'll teach divine at Earth Mother’s side
Making fully up for all lost last years lean…
