Still Engrained

Our Blood is Still Engrained
April 2011
O'er my head you place white linen shroud
Before you slip my rough noose of hemp
Once hung dead I'll still be Earth's lover proud
And She'll come back for them with full comtempt
Though you lashed me to their unjust stake
Then beneath my feet 'kindled a raging fire
'Twas not just mine but your own life men take
When this pyre's heat makes Light of deep desire
You once bound me to their killing rack
To pull my bones and joints apart
Dismemberd so still whole we both come back
For men cannot cull One ever-glowing heart
With their poisons you might cut our wine
With Her it may appear I've died once more
Yet again I'll rise up for la femme divine
Re-landed from cold waters to Her new green shore
Expose my neck upon their chopping block
In iron chains my arms and legs restrained
Let fall your sharp axe through to oaken knock
Entrained in wood our blood is still engrained!
