This Cusp of Autumn

Once upon this cusp of autumn
A northern gent meets his southern belle
'Tween white sheet season's height & bottom
Here on Earth, neither world heaven nor hell
She's been working in Her greenhouse
He with wild dark creatures of cold woods
She greets warm sunlight in a white sheer blouse
Like he in snow, naked and misunderstood
She works warm soil with Her hands
He takes deer down, ensuring herds' re-birth
Thus balanced now it seems both understand
The value of this good Life's recycling worth
She's not been north of Tennessee
He's not been south of the Appalachians
Yet this Mabon it is clear for all to see
Warm lovers rise above near distant nations!
Once upon this cusp of red leaf fall
A northern gent greets one southern belle
Will white winter's moonlight for Her call
It is, perhaps, still too soon to tell...
