Some Forest Dreams...

In my youth I took to the woods
With a spirit set to follow Thoreau
Lessons learned there now more understood
Times not spent where from Gods we borrow
I've walked between the fields and hearth
O'er that mysterious distance many times
Suspended between Heaven and our Earth
History's not repeated - it just rhymes!
I've strolled a thousand paths less travelled
Down numerous dark and damp, spoor-ridden
Through space where Time comes all unravelled
Nature there reveals all that has been hidden
I've shot game birds along the way
But the time spent hunting, Gods don't measure...
Those ruffed grouse that fall still fly away
Tokens from some forest dream I'll treasure
In my youth unto dark woods I took
Following in the spirit of Thoreau
But a Goddess forced me take a greater look
At Divine Knowledge sourced from sorrow
