Songs of My Old Self

You brought me to my knees near death
You then restored be back to health
Giving as you took 'way my breath
You taught me songs of my old self
You sought me in the star's sky height
Then let me free-fall through nights long
In silence kept yet in your sight
You helped me hear my own self's song
You lead me unto pastures green
Then left me hunger through brown drought
There grounded in true love serene
Where I found my own self's songs 'bove doubt
You threw me to your hell below
Once we'd trespassed to flights divine
Thus buried 'neath old grass fields we grow
Sewing seeds of Light songs I'll call mine
You dropped me to my knees near death
You nurtured me then back to health
Glistening wet you took away my breath
'Listening yet for songs of my old self...
