The road's obscured by silver mist
On this thawed winter's afternoon
The cold north wood's been lightly kissed
By southern warmth returned too soon
Ice under-hoof has turned to slush
As fresh melt-waters run down-hill
The road's now rilled by run-off's rush
We ride on, awed, through ground-fog still
Overhead, the Raven's shadow
Looms large as Life when it calls out
Above black reins 'pon manes aflow
To us below, bogged e'er down in doubt
"Turn back! Turn back!" the Raven said
Just what it meant we can not know
But in due time we'll all be dead
Yet all Life needs deep northern snow!
If we could change the Fate of Earth
What might you give up, my friends?
Choose 'tween parched death or green Rebirth
Come ride tonight towards Love, not ends!
