The Sharing

Stay seeker
Stay your weary step
Way worn limbs
Have need to rest,
Else you may misstep
The mountain paths
Which you do tread
Led by leaping stag
Are far too faint
For mortal eyes
That gaze with such
Self imposed restraint
Many and many
Farther steps
Ahead for you do lie
Each will cost you dear,
Ere you hope to find
That which you seek
But if you would
Then stay and rest
And come to share
Such humble fare as mine,
Not grand luxury
Nor enfeebling spoil,
But bread secured
By steady patient toil
Here quell your hunger
And quench your thirst
For clear waters burst
To sooth your lips
Here let us sit
And let slip
Thrice told tales
Learned and shared
Before the world was new
Then speak of dreams
Still yet to be dared
For each has its
Own haunting memory
Of things which were
And ever more will be
Incline your ear
To my request,
And to me, my friend
Be a welcome guest.
