I Know Anger

I know anger
Far too well
Left on its own
It festers and swells.
It’s like an infection
Spreading to the bone
It changes your visage
It changes your tone.
It can’t be forgotten
It will not be denied
It doesn’t stay buried
The lady knows I tried.
From smoldering embers
Then roaring to life
Over a pittance, a nothing
It’s the harbinger of strife.
Anger so deep
Seeks not the light
And anger so dark
Hides from the right.
A Lady found me
And changed the way
My life was headed
Now She holds sway.
Anger so deep
Fled from Her right.
It melted away
It couldn’t stand Her Light.
Lady of Light
You gave me back myself
With your light and your love
You gave of yourself.
