The Journey

Find a hollow in the hills
I am still with me
Slip into the Hidden tunnel
I cannot run
Am so led into a labyrinth
I cannot hide
Of sealed and secret corridors
I cannot lie
Through cracks that seem impassable,
Here I am
At last there was a cavern
I close my eyes
Hidden far from the light of day
I am still here
I found a secret chamber
There am I
Deepen holes as dark as wells
Present there
Seven times beyond any hope
It took much time
Of unnumbered ages, revealed
I stopped looking
An intruder into that hidden world
I found myself
Of archaic illuminations,
I worked hard
Under a roof of stars, earth and rock
I found a path
Passing deeper and yet deeper,
I learned to care
To the very mountain roots
I learned of The Lady’s Love
I saw the paintings on the walls
I learned to love myself
I gathered a simple and unspoiled realism
I learned to love others
As I pursue this journey to its end,
For as far as I go, there I am
