Firelight on a cold night,
this flame makes dark of light.
A blissful warmth in the hearth,
where memories are borne away.
Pen, paper and faces burning,
curling dark at the corners.
See the faces blacken and melt
into shapes of forgotten dreams.
Outside the wind is howling,
pen, paper and feathers flying.
Snow falling on the remnants of life,
a broken time, lasts an eternity.
Inside the wind is howling,
pen, paper and memories flying.
Tears falling on the remnants of past,
a broken moment, gone in an instant.
