Daughter of the night
by Moonlight
Age Group: Adult
Daughter of the Night
Naked feet on mossy soil
dancing under the waxing moon.
Bathed in silvery light,
the sacred rhythm of the night keeps calling.
With each crackling of the small fire,
songs are sparkling towards the stars.
Daughter of the night,
you are beating your tambourine,
you are singing the old songs,
unison of heartbeat and drum.
Winged dreams and prayers rise
into a silent, star-bright night sky.
Nobody will ever see the tears
you shed in the dark.
And your dance will go on,
till you yourself will fly
into the arms of your beloved again.
