A Secret

Age Group: Adult
Smiling serenely she walked down the paths
Entering the future while leaving life behind
Cursed and cursing, those fools that chase her!
Riddling her with questions to fill her head
Enveloped by the loss of hope that it was for her benefit
Tempted to cut the strings of the bridge just as they cross
Sometimes the thoughts drive her wild, sending her into oblivion!
Sunshine dances on her lovely face
Erased are all her smiles forever now
Crush those hurts, they hurt too much!
Rivers of pain? She wonders in confusion
Every time she sees them, she knows, it isn’t her they want
Touching her knife she contemplates a murder
Severe madness makes her tears stream, when will she wake up from it all!
Sensual tingling of grass blades remind her of better days
Each one of them coming, then leaving, never to return
Crying out into the darkness as she angrily lists her sufferings
Reaching out to find her answers
Easily faltering support failing once more
Trembling are her lips now as she smiles at her victim
Several times the memories come back in a rush, giving her no rest of mind…

Author's Notes: Word play, and composition... the latter I rarely use, but this particular one didn't come out bad, not bad at all.
