Condemnation

I wish to condemn myself into
The emptiness inside, to fill
My soul with meaning, and reject
The gaping holes of isolation, letting everything
Seep away into the arms of forgetfulness
Have I said that I do not wish to remember?
Pain is such a closed thing, so elusive and
Sad, a figure retorting at my kindest thoughts, solely
For the reason of keeping sane, it locks itself
Away, beyond my grasp, forever to remain
My empty heart’s consorting mask, flying away
To reveal the hidden anger, the warrior
Cannot live without a shadow, and yet
If I let it remain, invited to join the dark
Corners of the unconscious, it will sprain
The carefully built structures, to let
The light flood a forgotten hall, shining light upon billowing
Dust in redeemed innocence, never to be
The same wanderer as before
Wander an inner path, waste the stimulation of heat
Blood coursing, but too near the wounds, it makes
Them bleed the bitter words… all hope
Defined, is beyond my sight, frightful terrors they be,
To keep my distance is my best choice, but a wise
Fool I would be… deny me hope, and defy a future
Entering the painful tunnels is the only leading trail
That might forevermore lift from your eyes the blinding veil
