What You Made Me

The maiden saw him–
Twisting his torso in mortal combat
His blade against hers it was
And the maiden was in love–
And she cursed herself for that…
She saw the face that she
Revered above all–
It was he who had called… called out
She saw him and gave to him
All her feelings, her life–
She gave all she had to give…
She promised him her heart
And honest she was…
Naive she was… to step
So close to him, and become
Close to him… when she
Could not see that the need for him
Demanded her attention
To go through all of it
That his tempered callous
Shall forever reign
That the beast within him
Shall be set loose again
The maiden saw him, a lone
Heart, in need… she tried to
Comfort it… but she was burned
By his greed… she tried to
Run for it, escape his giant maw
But caught she was in loves embrace…
And endured it all… gritting her teeth
Hiding her sorrow, not releasing
Tears of pain and anger… until
He wanted her no longer… he
Made a toss, and she fell…
Her naďveté… was quelled.
She now reigns in distant lands
And in distant hearts, and she,
Just as cruel and callous as he
Hides her feelings from all…
Paranoia riddles all…
Sheil mage filled with never-ending grief
The torment that holds a hidden love
Laying softly, sleeping beneath…

Author's Notes: Ok, ok, it's not so bad. I mean, I'm not actually anything of what I described in the latter part of this (er... at least, where such things are concerned) . Most definitely not. It's just, in an embittered moment, my fantasy took a hold of me and exaggeration began ter work its work...
