There is no time
that does not force gravity to reach up
to pull the weeping willow’s long
strands of hair to the ground.
There is no force
that can erase the memory of
climbing towards the stars,
marking the empty hours with
remembering past scars
biding no time that exists on
our plane of perception
the willow bends and sways
elegantly with the wind…
in the dance that no one has allowed
to bloom forth from their chests.
And the darkness that makes features
smooth and melt away… those same features
are painfully clear today, on the sky
riding the sun, riding high…
Only to find that the clouds’ misty lips parted
in a wind-breath sigh
and nothing special had arrived.
The wood is still creaking gently
and the mossy floor is still peaceful
under my head as I lay in my heart
and I watched the moon come so close…
Drunk with silver light, the willow weeps
of laments that no heart has dared to voice
for only its innocence can provoke
me to voice them… on the hard outside…
The lurking pain that had set foot in my groves
had come forth for a short moment, to let know
its presence not forgotten, and not sought
but its footsteps heard far and wide, shaking
all the leaves, leaving the ground
to tremble in soft pleas…
I step out for a moment
to find myself atop an ice mountain
and cold perception and analysis robe me
as I watch those creatures below straggling
to reach up to me… somewhere from below
the tremble shakes the icy foundations
but the heart is not yet free.
