A hit of pain
oh, yes, your choice…
high on sorrow
Revelation! that it’s too late
Entering, now:
entering empty, black space…
Ahoy! High Joy
too high for me to get up to
denying me again? are you
what’s the High Point, oh, Mighty?
what’s the sacrifice this time?
Taking my share, when all of it
seems like mine?
doled it all out to me?
Nope, High Joy, you aren’t coming here to see
you’re going over to those around me
High Pain, you and I are alike
we think the same, we think in bites
how deeper can our teeth sink
before we’re thrust back by screams of agony
Hello, High Life
tonight you are mine
I roll up pain and smoke it like a shaman
and we’ll spend the night together
in agony and joy
elation and folly…
Next time I see you, High Life
you’ll be entering the world of another’s own
I’ll just stare at having lost you
and revert to jamming instead
perhaps that’ll get you back
but I still got a lot to work through
High Pain and I got memories to sink in
we got history
we got time to work it out
time to talk about it, let it go
I suppose that was the last connection
that the High Almighty cut off for me
Nope! No more chances there!
I swear, you are the most devious pain of them all
because you hit me so hard and so unexpectedly
and then you disappear as if nothing happened at all
‘cause I get around to thinking of this exchange
that I won’t enjoy
Highly Stubborn, at a dangerous voltage:
Screw up again and it won’t be my High Pain…
