No swords to weild

Confusion… madness?
Crested atop my fears had
they reigned, chanting;
their waning faith spewing to me
words of deceit that I
had transformed… into
confusion… madness…
chaos of invention…
No more are such moments
left alone, still the torture of
fantasies are not quelled… and in dark
times my fantasies dwell… in the deep
only to return to the light, as if
I had merely been asleep… what
was I thinking? Have I gone mad?
What madness induced me to feel
the need to abandon, when what lay ahead
was no adventure I’d dreamt of…
no swords to wield in life, but a heart
that can feel, left… to be devoured–
what madness induced me to seek
such a strange, faithless peak?
Madness… confusion…?
Which one of you is the source
of these illusions? Step out
so I may duel with you in fairness
in tolerance… and in callous of
your lies. Had you tried to divide me?
Separate my faith from madness!
Nothing can separate the two…
because they both live in me
so that I may weave…
