My hatred for you…

My “one last time” seems to go
on forever in a hopeless task
to let go…
20 years from now, that was the one
that had been my love and undoing at once
the unchecked hurt that drove me
to a fervent and cutting insanity…
Had my voice been begging to be drowned
and find peace in the silence of death
had it been really so, had I such a long way
yet to go? Yes… the fury, hate
and all… of the pain…
had driven me to smash my world
kill all hope, all life
because none of these deserve
to live in me any longer… they’ve
tormented me enough…
The summer, spring, the dresses and looks
the pictures, now dusty
the memory, the music to last me a lifetime
to get over… to put myself past…
My hatred for you, that had been forged
out of hopeless love
shall never die… not for you, ever
I will always remember
and I will always refuse
to ever again
be kind
to you.
