Come, my new light…

Age Group: Adult
The confused woman had seen her vision
and had taken it up on its challenge
met with the fated, yet… waited
to give a chance:
undeserved… the fool!
Patience and loving kind
had sought out to touch her mind
thoughts ensnared, but the tug behind was still there
goodbye had been done
the vow under the Moon
strongest bond that overruled, chains:
broken to find so many things in blind ruin…
Yet Patience… Path… was there
the confused woman paced restlessly
tormented by new dreams
had they all been lying in wait, unseen?
blind fool she’d been…
Flying away, bringing tides of cold rain
a nest in the grove, ‘tis a nice thing to be known
and now… confusion lost its grip
to leave a pleasant slipping into
a new… Green Fantasy… ah! The drums
had heralded a new age…
Yes, the sun’s shone out
touched it I did, those warm rays
lying in wait had been so many clouds
that had darkened my brow, with sorrow
the cuts and wounds, all searing
healing by a ray of sun
hope anew, begun…
It’s a long way to go, to walk
the length of the grove
leave behind the dark caves where
a soft beat lay in wait
coming out to be snatched away…
…and the heavy weight of freedom
induced me to cry… and sing for joy
and scold for the dark and damp hours
that had only reduced me…
come, my new light
flowers, wreath, oh, it’s summer again!
