The cold, cruel blood of dying love

I’d thought I’d never live once more, ever since
I’d tasted the cold, cruel blood of dying love… the soft
Silken haired maiden I could have been lay before me
broken and sobbing… bloodied in wronging that wrought
pain on her fair face… no longer does she fall in grace,
she is fallen… and sunken, enfolded by the dark waves…
the blood on her lips, of biting through her heart’s tenders
crimson of a phantom fantasy, almost perfect dream
destroyed and shaking it it’s dusty ruin, where the mud of tears
mingle with her own heart’s bleeding, that forever
pools ‘neath her… fantastic gothic satin
torn and shredded…
…But those dark curls and enigmatic eyes, those words
spoken by that voice… the one that came shimmering warmth
to her frozen and bound side, her locked heart penetrated with
a simple string of sweet words…
What I could have been, destroyed, hidden, unseen
brought out from the heavy and pained shadows
to blink tears out of my eyes in hope of tomorrow…
…All of this had brought me back once more…
a damned fool my misty eyes had been! how could I not see?
past regrets need not play their folly on me no more,
for I’ve lost the power and will to dream…
to the novice, cruelty had wished illusions of love spells
served to put an end to undying misery, that I’d rather carry
than hide… I’d rather taste the cold cruel blood
to be silently washed away by tears, in safe arms…

Author's Notes: Oh, yes, this is part-way a "wallow" poem, part-way "sweeeet new love" poem, all in all rather... odd in places, argh. =/
Of COURSE it's not obvious that I'm suffering from letting go of a past love. Right? XDDDDD (And that I realized... ok, I'll shut up now. XDDDD *innocent look*)
