Would I have gone to hell?

by Widdershins
 Age Group: Adult

In my moment of reverent reflection, skirting memories, digesting them, I passed aside a long stride, a sacrifice made by hand of mine, and my heart and kind— perhaps it was my luck that it hadn’t been the first hurt that my heart’s seen, for if I had a complete and unscathed heart, it would all be in your maw now, shredded apart; as I painted the images of decadent men onto the walls to learn from them, how to be different from their kind… know thy enemy and to satisfy a fascination of mine; I’d added your image, to that wall the one that shields my heart from all because each little stab protects me because their mine sometimes it’s Pain… that keeps me alive to remember legacies and arrogant cruelties that show me the true nature of darkness and beauty; secret enigmas and colorful plays all dancing to my black tunes of dying days, the last dance before Armageddon comes, not just a flurry of black swans, that deserve to be observed… by critic and fanatic alike the digest of human nature’s spite… I’d wondered, gazing at all you’ve done, seeing you’ve effectively sealed the last crevice and left me alone, immune to the bitterness that life lays out— thank you for that, you’ve armored me beyond doubt… just by being my love for a little while… centuries to a soul, wily and old but I still wonder… as I look back to that fantasy slumber whether I’d have gone to hell with you, just because you’d captured my heart and mind with your perfect flaws, yes, how perfect you’d seemed… but reality is not the steady heir of that dream you were bound to crash to the evil depths… and I wonder if I’d have sacrificed all this! just to be near… not just to touch your soul for a little while, but forever condemned if need be… and you’d almost done that to me… cruelty had always been your ace of spades, as you glide in and out of evil, what a waste! of such a shining, energetic soul… stained and crumbling, hammering on hell’s walls… you’d want in, and I’d have followed… had you not been the only one who’s caused me sorrow.

Author's Notes: Ye... the drow. XDDD Actually, I feel fine about it for some weird reason, at least today... new love's blossoms will do that to you XDDDD, but seriously, on a more serious note, it's a hurt. Treat it so, with due respect.
