Raging emptiness
by Widdershins
Age Group: Adult
As I try to live on, sometimes
I can’t forget
about the hopelessly raging emptiness
of loss, and remoteness
no matter how much has helped
to soothe it and not make it so tragic
somehow it still makes me feel
empty… it’s as if, sometimes
all I care for has died, and merely
mediumistically speaks to me
through messages and words,
through modern technology
but forever deprived
of the touch of humanity…
no one has died, and yet it seems so
as I sit here, half alone and remote
trying to figure out
why it had to change so thoroughly
before I had a chance to be thankful
to all the good things that had happened to me.
