Setting out to become a Hero: Shadowdancer

Setting out to become a Hero: legacy of Shadowdancer
Walking in the whispering, tall trees…
the Man yearns to see more than these—
the table is set at home, to greet the dusk
with brilliant light and warmth…
the Traveler has the man become
to walk the ways alone…
the Traveler abandons the haven, to seek
an answer to how he can reach the stars
and eyes melding with the Moon Goddess,
stroking silkily on his satchel and face—
hand on the cloak that would let his falls
be falls of grace… like a gliding leaf
joining the frictionless surface of the pool
over which the Traveler now stands, bemused…
how many creatures could seek
what he had sought, the answer
to his prayers and yearnings… setting out
to conquer the world…
But in the brush a silent and cold wind stirs…
doubt pierces through his senses
and wariness creeps into the bend of his heart
and the Traveler suddenly loses sight of his mark…
The world took him to a dark place…
the Traveler becomes the Hunted—
wandering in paranoid sneakglancing
always checking what he left behind…
the Hunted has met evil, and cringed
from the ones that man had wrought
and through his agony of living his dream,
his tears of lost innocence silently stream…
in his frustration and realization
of all that he has lost and not forgiven…
a sudden hit of thunderbolt jolts him out of
the illusion that love to him was forbidden…!
the powerful Shadowdancer he becomes
gliding through life effortlessly
and steps onto the foothold of a legacy…
His bold daring frowned upon,
and without support at all…
the Shadowdancer found the rout
up to the moon and stars…
By living his heart
By keeping true to his dream
By never letting life spoil his weave
The Shadowdancer became Legend,
the Man quietly remained inside…
the Hunted was finally caught and killed
with a quick snap, paranoia left his side…
By living his heart
By keeping true to his dream
By never letting life spoil his eternal weave…

Author's Notes: Of course Shadowdancer is, yes, from DnD… :D It’s an excellent archetype for legacy-material. Yes, I'm obsessed with fantasy, DnD, RPG, and the rest... *innocent look*
